Campus 805

The main building at Campus No. 805 opened in 1952 and was home to the original S.R. Butler High School.  The facility was later re-purposed as Roy L. Stone Middle School before eventually being decommissioned by Huntsville City Schools in 2009.  In 2014, the property was sold to a private developer. In conjunction with the redevelopment, the City of Huntsville purchased four acres of the nearly thirteen-acre site for green space, parking, and a large performance lawn in the heart of the Campus.  Serving as a catalyst for urban renewal in west Huntsville, the mixed used development is currently home to two major craft breweries – Yellowhammer Brewery and Straight to Ale; as well as Bubba’s Silver Spoon Catering, Lone Goose Saloon, and a wide range of restaurants, retail shops, and special event venues.
