Exterior Influences:
An essential part of understating architecture is the careful contemplation of the character and detail featured in the great places if the world, whether those places are found in other countries or in our own neighborhoods. Time spent with a pen and sketchbook is an opportunity to learn what makes places meaningful. Actively on site fuses place into memory, and simply viewing the sketch at a later date triggers memories which convey different information than photographs.

Internal Processes:
Throughout our creative process, we generate piles of sketches to our projects. Many are generated during meetings to demonstrate a concept, or particular aspect of a design to our clients. Others are exchanged among project team members to provide direction, make suggestions, or examine a particular element or detail more thoroughly. Some are refined, others are crude. However they are all essential snapshots in the design process.
