Approximately 5,500 Square Feet

o Located between a retail shopping center and a new residential neighborhood, Flint River Animal Hospital is a new 5,465 square foot “state of the art” Veterinary Hospital. The owner wanted an inviting and enduring image for the public and an architectural style that would be the foundation for future buildings, which may include animal boarding and additional office buildings. Phase I, which includes the Animal Hospital, situated the Hospital Building to allow for expansion of future office buildings and the additional parking needed to support the new buildings. The architects used “craftsman” style architectural details and forms to provide a context and scale between their residential and retail neighbors. The building uses durable and maintenance free materials on the exterior by mixing brick, stone, and two types of siding. The mixed use of materials designates different entries and visual interest. The hospital plan was designed to provide many zones of public and private service, including a clinic with exam rooms, a hospital w/ surgery, x-ray, and isolation wards, and a boarding facility with individual animal runs and cages. The interior was designed under the supervision of a veterinarian consultant to achieve American Animal Hospital Certification.
